ROLES AND OBJECTIVES

The IPA is a public administrative institution with legal personality and financial autonomy based in Yaounde with a regional branch in Douala. The Agency is under the technical supervision  of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon and under the financial supervision of the Ministry of Finance.

Our mission, in collaboration with other public and private administrations and institutions, is to contribute to the development and implementation of the government’s investment promotion policy in Cameroon.

We also provide public services to companies seeking or obtaining licenses under the Investment Charter and followup companies benefiting from these benefits.

As such, we aim to
  • Promoting Cameroon's brand image
  • Helping to improve an investment-friendly environment in Cameroon
  • Propose measures that could attract investors to Cameroon
  • Collect information on different investment opportunities in Cameroon and disseminate them to the business community
  • Create a project database and make it available to potential investors
  • Welcome, support and guide foreign and domestic investors at all stages of their investment projects
To this end, the Agency's function is to
  • Receiving and process applications for licensing
  • Obtain necessary visas to carry out the investment programs proposed by the company for the duration of the certification document
  • Obtain visas for foreign staff during the period of validity of the license
  • Helping licensed companies implement investment programs, including access to related public services
  • Set up, in conjunction with the technical services concerned, simplified administrative procedures by industry
  • Ensure that investor commitments made when signing agreements are monitored and respected and take appropriate action if necessary
  • Propose measures to improve the implementation of sector codes
